Twitter's top 5 announcements from the #AppleEvent
September 8 2016Last night was Apple’s much-awaited keynote, announcing all of their newest releases. Visibrain took a look at which announcements were getting the most attention on Twitter.
There were 1,36 million tweets about the Apple event yesterday evening between 6 pm and midnight.
Here are the new releases and announcements that Twitter was talking about last night:
1) iPhone 7 - 491,376 tweets
Unsurprisingly, the launch of the new iPhone 7 was the hottest topic of last night’s keynote. There were just under half a million comments about the iconic phone’s newest features, in particular the removal of the headphone jack, the fact that the phone will be water resistant, and the improved camera.
2) AirPod wireless headphones - 153,704 tweets
The launch of the new wireless Airpod earphones was the second most popular topic of the keynote. Certainly an interesting concept, but a lot of users were questioning just how practical wireless earphones would be:

I haven't bought any yet, but I'm pretty sure I already lost a pair of #AirPods.

Along with the fact that they are rather pricy:

3) Apple Watch 2 - 97,512 tweets
The arrival of the new, water-resistant Apple Watch 2, with built-in GPS is in third place for most popular topic of the night.
4) Super Mario Run - 74,734 tweets
The arrival of Super Mario Run into the App Store was a source of huge excitement for Nintendo fans, clocking up over 70,000 tweets.
5) Pokémon Go on the Apple Watch - 31,873 tweets
The fifth most popular topic of the night was Apple’s announcement that Pokémon Go would be coming to the Apple Watch. Given the game’s popularity, it’s hardly surprising that it made the list.
Is it sad I'm only wanna get the Apple Watch for Pokemon GO? 😂
