The AI Action Summit 2025 has just wrapped up in Paris, bringing together world leaders, industry executives, researchers, and civil society to shape the future of artificial intelligence. Held at the Grand Palais on 10–11 February, the event gathered Heads of State and Government, leaders of international organisations, CEOs from businesses large and small, academics, NGOs, artists, and more to discuss AI’s impact on society, innovation, and governance.
One of the biggest takeaways from the summit was the geopolitical divide over AI regulation. A declaration on “inclusive and sustainable” AI, backed by 60 countries—including France, China, India, Japan, and Canada—was notably not signed by the US or the UK. The decision highlighted tensions around global AI governance, with US Vice-President JD Vance criticising Europe's approach as "excessive regulation" and warning against cooperation with China. Meanwhile, UK officials stated that the declaration lacked practical clarity on AI governance and security.
With such high-stakes discussions unfolding, the event sparked major conversations online. From policy disagreements to groundbreaking AI innovations, social media played a key role in amplifying the biggest moments. But what were the key takeaways from the online buzz?
Using Visibrain’s social listening insights, we break down the top trends, conversations, and engagement figures that defined this year’s summit.
The AI Action Summit 2025 generated significant traction online, with 228,000 posts from 127,000 unique users, leading to an impressive 2,866,691 engagements. The conversation peaked at multiple points, notably during key speeches and announcements, with the highest activity occurring on 11 February. Over 5,000 press articles covered the event, reflecting its broad media impact.
The online conversation around the AI Action Summit was shaped by the key theme of #AI, highlighting the event's central focus on artificial intelligence. Discussions also extended to #AIForAll and #AIForGood, underscoring the ethical and societal implications of AI technology. Political figures played a major role in shaping the debate, with #JDVance #NarendraModi, and #EmmanuelMacron trending as discussions around international AI collaboration gained traction. This was no doubt influenced by another key moment - U.S. Senator J.D. Vance's speech, which sparked online and offline discussion, as he addressed AI regulation and its impact on the global economy. Additionally, location-based hashtags such as #Paris and #France reflected the summit's global significance.
Instagram led engagement for the AI Action Summit 2025, with 916,754 likes, making it the most interactive platform for discussions around the event. YouTube followed with 304,437 likes, while Facebook garnered 179,394 reactions. X (formerly Twitter) saw 124,795 retweets, LinkedIn recorded 98,562 reactions, and TikTok had 44,656 likes. Interestingly, Threads also contributed with 20,327 likes.
The most striking insight here is the relatively low engagement on TikTok. While TikTok played a major role in driving conversations for events like CES in Los Angeles, it saw significantly less traction for the AI Action Summit in Paris. This suggests that the event’s audience may have skewed towards more professional and policy-driven platforms, or that AI-focused discussions resonated more strongly on traditional social networks rather than short-form video content. It may also reflect fall-out after the recent ban of TikTok in the United States.
X, formerly Twitter, remains a powerhouse for real-time event updates and industry commentary, and AI Summit 2025 was no exception. Several influential accounts stood out, shaping the conversation and amplifying key trends. With Visibrain’s insights, we identified these accounts as key drivers of X engagement, setting the tone for discussions:
LinkedIn proved to be a key platform for engagement around the AI Action Summit, with professionals and companies using it to share insights and reactions. As a network that attracts industry leaders and decision-makers, LinkedIn enables brands to position themselves within important discussions, extending their reach beyond the event itself. Unlike other platforms where engagement can be fleeting, LinkedIn posts often have a longer lifespan, making it a valuable tool for companies looking to maximise their visibility in the AI and tech space.
The top performing companies on LinkedIn were as follows:
Over the next few days, I will be in France and USA to take part in various programmes.
— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) February 10, 2025
In France, I will be taking part in the AI Action Summit, where India is the co-chair. I will be holding talks with President @EmmanuelMacron towards strengthening India-France relations. We…

The Vice President warned global leaders and tech CEOs that "excessive regulation" would kill the rapidly growing AI industry.

The AI Action Summit 2025 generated significant online discussion, with engagement levels highlighting the platforms where industry conversations thrived. While Instagram led in total interactions, LinkedIn played a crucial role in fostering professional discussions, reinforcing its importance for companies looking to establish thought leadership. Notably, TikTok’s relatively low engagement stands in stark contrast to events like CES, where it was a dominant force—suggesting that AI-focused discussions may resonate more with professional audiences. For brands, the key takeaway is clear: understanding where conversations are happening is essential for maximising impact. Social listening remains a powerful tool for tracking these shifts and ensuring businesses stay ahead of the curve.
